The Misadventures of Penoi

My Smartbro antenna fell from our roof because of unreliable pole wires. I've reported the problem last May 14, 2007, and after 5 days of waiting, i called their customer service and reported the problem again!!??.

Penoi: ni-report ko na yung problem last May 14 pa.. pero after 5 days.. hindi pa din nagagawa ang antenna
CS: Sir, gawa ko na lang kayo ng Ticket number, but before that, can you give me the status of your LAN connection... may ekis ba or may exclamation point??
Penoi: teka, alam mo ba kung ano ang problem ko?? physically natumba antenna sa bubong namin...
CS:Yes sir, pero kailangan kong malaman ang status ng LAN connection nyo
Penoi: hindi ko makuha ang point mo....

Ok, after 6 days of waiting, Smartbro Wireless Internet sent their technicians to fix my problem...Ah!!! the pain of waiting!!!

Ok, im really pissed off to my slow internet connection. The customer service always gives me the alibi that there are still problems with their Base Station. To those who are planning to subscribe to Smartbro wireless broadband, you better think twice!!!! Anyway, everyday giving them a call to report my slow connection.. If Smart will not resolve this issue ASAP, i will give them my grounds to terminate my 1 year subscription contract to Smartbro. Well, its better to have no internet connection than to have a connection that you can not use at all..

Smartbro Wireless Internet Broadband Speed Test (356kbps) as of April 1, 2007. This is not April Fools day stuff.




In laymans term, Smartbro Wireless Internet Broadband is fucking slow nowadays. I was happy when the Taiwan incident happened last January because it did not affect Smartbro. But now, the speed test shows how slow Smartbro is.

After the Taiwan earthquake, the Philippines still experiencing slow internet connection. According to the news, it will take weeks before they can fully restore the damaged submarine cables in Taiwan. So in the meantime, it will be a dialup speed connection for us.
So far, during the holidays and after the earthquake, my Smartbro Wireless Internet Broadband connection was very efficient. I can do torrents, http download, browse the internet, and do my work at the same time. Kudos to Smartbro for a good service in my area. I hope their service will stay that way.

Ok, maybe i will need a broadband connection here in Manila next year.. Instead of applying for another internet subscription, i will just transfer my Smartbro Wireless Internet from Batangas. The customer service informed me that i will need to pay them Php2k in order to process the transfer. Argh.. dont have additional/extra budget for that until the end of the year.... its so slow and hard to work if i will use the company issued PLDT Weroam here in manila...
last night boy dapa and i were in starbucks... im enjoying my coffee, when this english-speaking dorks bugged me and ask if im using the chair besides me because this guy-hiphop-wannabee friend of theirs has no chair... i said no.. but my bag is....
WTF!!! they want my chair coz they dont want to get the vacant chair, 5steps away from their table... greed as i wanna be!!! bwaahahahaha....

Is SmartBro Wireless internet efficient?? My answer is a big NO!!!! Im using my Smartbro Wireless Internet connection only during weekends here in the province... but it pisses me of being online after few minutes, my connection will be cut off and never again got any connection from SmartBro...

A routinary SmartBro Customer Service line:

Did you renew your ip address using ipconfig /renew and /release??

Please reboot your computer...

Please reset the antenna...

i will forward your concern to our technical group and rest assure that you will get a response within 24 hours....

WTF!!! oh well, all my problems are properly logged... the time, the date with the same problem... gathering all the necessary proofs to void my one year subscription contract with SmartBro...

i cant connect to my smartbro wireless internet last night. The technical support reported that there were problems with their signal. hmmm....

there were also problems on their authentication login page. hmmmm again.....
i should frequently update my smartbro wireless internet experience on this blog... coz im one of the top result on google when you search "smartbro internet" .... a good outlet on my rants to the smartbro wireless internet services.

got my smartbro internet connection installed. hmmm, its kinda slow or maybe im just used on corporate high speed internet(?)
the technicians asked for a Php402.00 additional fee because they must install the antenna on our bodega which are meters away from our home.
