Its holiday today!!! Last day of Ramadan. Eventhough there's no office today, we will be in Subic for our company's global conference.

It seems Microsoft is hardening Windows XP security features in their SP3. Good thing Microsoft is still supporting XP. Another feature that i like is their Network Access Protection (NAP) due release in Windows Server 2008. NAP will check for updates and service packs and will disallow failed clients.

So, a few weeks ago there was a comment in our feedback from someone who said "LOL LOOK FILIPINO TELEVISION IS USING YOUR FANSUBS TO DUB STUFF".

The message originally linked to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOZc_5Hptus , but there seem to be about 20 other copies of the same thing (typical JewTube crap). In there, there's a logo for ABS-CBN TV station, with our Shippuuden opening playing, with karaoke cut out, and tagalog subtitles and music replacing Japanese.

Being a gullible bunch of trolls that we are, we took it literally and put a little message at the end of our Shippuuden episode 26, something long the lines of "LOL @ FILIPINO TV".

And then the fun started. We got accused of being racist, homosexual, insensitive, and disrespectful. Here's a little sample of the kind of threats we got from REAL Filipinos:

i must say that i am not unaware of dattebayo's insensitivity to other people's feelings, and that you would go to as far as sporting a lie just to cover up for your indescretion; take for example as what you did with the victims of VTech massacre. you not only disrespected the bereaved families and friends of the victims, but you made a mockery out of their misfortune. if you could do this to the dead, there is more reason to believe that you could do this to third world citizens?

After much lolling, Dattebayo ex-member 'timecop' decided to take this matter in his own hands and post a public apology to all Filipinos, ABS-CBN TV, and anyone else who was hurt or saddened by the comment in episode 26.

Last tuesday i had an accident and just an inches away, then the Penoi is no more. It all started when Boy dapa and me decided to take our morning bath in the office coz our landlord failed again to turn on our water supply. I was the first one to take the shower, but i failed to notice that my feet still had soap in it and all i can remember was my head bangs on the railings of the showers sliding door. I rushed myself to Makati Medical Center, and luckily, my company already gave its probationary employees Value Care Health card. The card saves me Php6k on the "glue" that holds the cut in the back of my head instead of stitching it.
One lesson i learned, live your life to the fullest, not worrying too much on our problem. We will never know when we will face our death.

four months ago, Nikon announced D40, and now they have D40X with just a external physical difference and a 10MP versus its predecessor D40. Oh well, im eager to have my own DSLR camera.

we have a sports activity at the office. i've signed up in basketball, tennis and bowling activity. i dont know how to play basketball, i dont know how to play tennis and even in bowling. in short, i dont know anything about sports. but if "mountain climbing" is considered as sport, then it is the only sport i know.

im contemplating in buying Nikon D40 entry-level DSLR camera. i love photo shooting and want to be serious in the field of digital photography.

jeromix, my cousin from dubai, gave me linksys wag354g wireless G ADSL router . I've just updated its firmware from 1.01.03 to 1.01.11 to support WPA Pre-shared keys. Plugged my Smartbro connection and disabled the DHCP server in the linksys router. Now, i have the flexibility to work everywhere in our house away from my unstoppable pamangkins.

Naruto Shippuuden 018 Delayed ??? Apparently, there's no announcement from Dattebayo when Naruto Shippuuden 018 will be released. Usually, new Naruto episodes comes out every Friday, Philippine time. For the meantime, i will watch Avatar The Legend of Ang Book Book Two: Earth.

Its holiday!!! but still im in the office... It will be a busy week for me. There will be a Business Summit and Blessing in our new (cool!!!i said literaly cool!!!) office. My year did not start with a big bang, but i considered it blessing in disguise. Hopefully, my new company will rock and kick ass!!!! Free lunch, room with video games(PS3,XBOX or WII), sleeping room, pantry with complete cooking appliance and my favorite room in the office, the CR with shower. Oh yes, there's no office uniform.. you can wear anything you want, just dont be in the office naked.

PGMA again moved the holiday. Instead of June 12 Independence Day, the holiday was moved to June 11.

After 4 years of serving me, my AMD Duron 1.3Ghz, 1GB Memory computer is giving me a headache and he want a replacement. Maybe i will settle for a value priced performance computer as soon i'm finished paying my credit card. Its time to feel the power of Core DUO CPUs. Still, i will go with AMD, not been a fan of INTEL cpus.

Sometimes Meebo shows your IM friends IP address. The odd thing is, if you are protected by a firewall, it was able to traverse your NAT and shows your Internal IP address. i dunno if this is a YM issue or a Meebo issue.

we tested the GPRS/Edge PLDT Weroam as an internet gateway of 4 computers. The computers are connected to PLDT Weroam thru wireless ad-hoc. It is known that GPRS is too slow, and the result, its like you are connected to a dialup connection. We are planning to subscribe to its 3G version.

My Smartbro antenna fell from our roof because of unreliable pole wires. I've reported the problem last May 14, 2007, and after 5 days of waiting, i called their customer service and reported the problem again!!??.

After 3 months of unpaid salaries from my former employer, thank God i have a new job. I might say that this job will challenge my skills and knowledge. Hopefully i can solve every problems and task that they will give me.

No beach for us this vacation. We are having some financial crisis and my sister is busy with the construction of their new house. But looking at the positive side, we spent holy week together at home. Tipid pa!!!
